Information for GPs about referrals to Robyn

Rebate information for clients

You will be aware that with the recent changes to MedicarePlus it is possible to refer patients to a psychologist under the Enhanced Primary Care initiative. Any of your patients who have been identified by you as having a chronic condition, with psychological and/or behavioural features, and for whom you devise a patient care plan, can be referred for the services of a psychologist.

Patients who have a primary or secondary condition that involves problems with mood (e.g. anxiety, depression), cognition (e.g. memory, concentration), pain (e.g. headache, musculo-skeletal), adjustment problems (e.g. acute distress, grief) or behaviour (e.g. anger, self-management, sleep) -  could benefit from psychological intervention.

In my practice I have a special interest and expertise in several areas, including:

  • Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) for depression and anxiety/panic attacks
  • Interpersonal Therapy for Relationship problems
  • Range of adjustment disorders, e.g. Bereavement, separation etc
  • Relaxation for pain management
  • Post trauma debriefing
  • Stress Management through psycho-education about controlling anger and conflict, and enhancing assertive communications.
